Lake Mburo National Park is located in the Western part of Uganda along the Mbarara-Lyantonde comprising of various biodiversity species including Flora like the acacia woodland, bamboo and Fauna i.e gigantic eland antelope, zebra, topi, impala, Giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, warthog, African buffalo, jackal, African leopard etc as well as various species of birds like the water birds, Lake shore and papyrus swamp birds, Seasonal swamp birds, Woodland birds, Grassland birds and Forest birds. How to Get to the Park
Lake Mburo National Park is located a few kilometers off the major City of Kampala and can be accessed by use of both Road and Air depending on the tastes and preferences of the travelers.
By Road:
Lake Mburo National Park can be accessed by transferring from Kampala or Entebbe International Airport Westwards via Lyantonde then after a while of 3-4 hours of driving, you reach the Park. you can opt to use Private means by booking a Car from Car Hire Agencies or use public means.
By Air:
The Park can also be accessed by use of plane which is boarded at the Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip to Mbarara Airstrip where you leave from to Lake Mburo National Park.
Safari Activities to do in Park
Game Drives
Game Drives are the most prominent Safari Adventure carried out in the Park and requires travelers to transfer to the park to enjoy watching numerous wildlife animals wandering around their natural Savannah vegetation habitat while transferring from one track to another. The wildlife animals you watch in the Park include; gigantic eland antelope, zebra, topi, impala, Giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, warthog, African buffalo, jackal, African leopard.
Boat Cruises
Boat Cruise in the Park are also very exciting to experience in the Park as these offer you views of various wildlife animals along the shores taking water as well as crocodiles and Hippos beneath the waters. They are done along Lake Mburo which is located within the Park’s boundary. Water birds can also be spotted fishing.
Bird Watching
Lake Mburo National Park is also a very good birder’s paradise due to the bird watching experiences it offers to all that watch the various bird species around the Park. The Bird species that can be seen in the park include; Fish eagle, Pied kingfisher, African fin foot, Great white egret, Night heron.
Horse Back Riding
Horse Back Riding is another exciting Safari Adventure to enjoy in Lake Mburo National Park and involves transferring as you ride a horse around the park watching numerous wildlife animals wandering around their natural Savannah vegetation habitat. The Horse Ride takes a period of 2-5 hours through Valleys, Rolling Hills and various Lakes around the Park.
