- Exploring the Lubiri (Palace) Torture Chambers: A somber but essential look into Uganda’s political history during the 1970s, located within the grounds of the King’s Palace.
- Karuzika Palace Tour (Fort Portal): A visit to the circular palace of the King of Tooro, offering 360-degree views of Fort Portal town and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: The Heart of Buganda – Kampala City Tour
Your heritage journey begins in Kampala, the city built on seven hills. We start with a visit to the Bulange Parliament and the Lubiri Palace, the official seat of the Kabaka (King) of Buganda. Walk the “Royal Mile” and learn about the intricate clan system that has governed this region for centuries.
- Afternoon: Visit the Kasubi Tombs, a masterpiece of traditional Ganda architecture and a sacred site for the kingdom.

Day 2: Sacred Sites and the Journey West
Before leaving the central region, we visit the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, a site of immense spiritual and historical significance. Afterward, we begin our drive toward Fort Portal. The route takes you through the lush “tea carpet” landscapes of Mubende, where we stop to hear the legends of the Nakayima Tree, an ancient site associated with the Chwezi dynasty.

Day 3: Tooro Kingdom & The Royal Palace
Today is dedicated to the Tooro Kingdom. We visit the Karuzika Palace, perched on a hill overlooking Fort Portal town. Here, you will learn about the history of the Omukama (King) and the unique “Empaako” (pet name) naming tradition—a practice recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.
- Afternoon: Explore the vibrant Fort Portal local market to see how indigenous food like matooke and malo are traded.

Day 4: Crater Lakes & Traditional Homestead Visit
The area surrounding Fort Portal is dotted with over 50 “Explosion Craters.” We take a guided walk around the Lake Nyinabulitwa area, where local guides share folklore about the creation of these lakes.
