Trip Overview

Day 1 : Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Aerial Views of the Kigezi Highlands.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience & Batwa Cultural Trail in Bwindi.
Day 3: Scenic Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi: Island Exploration & Traditional Dugout Canoeing.
Day 4: Last Morning at Lake Bunyonyi & Return Flight to Entebbe International Airport.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe International Airport- Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Day 1 of the 4 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari will start with a pick up from your Entebbe International Airport by our professional driver guide who will meet and greet.

You will fly into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving from your previous location. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your lodge, where you can relax and settle in, enjoying the lush forest surroundings and preparing for the exciting days ahead.

Accommodation Option: Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge or Gorilla Heights Lodge

Meals Plan: Half Board

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking - Batwa Community Cultural Tours Bwindi

On this day after having your heavy breakfast, here you will have an option of Gorilla Trekking. You then you will prepare yourself in appropriate clothing and get ready for Gorilla Trekking or Forest Walk.

You will be transferred to the Parks center for briefing about the DO’s and DON’T’S by a ranger guide, you will enter the forest in search for the Mountain Gorillas.

Gorilla Trekking takes about 1 – 5 hours depending on their location however, you can encounter other animals, bird species, butterfly species and also different plant species in the forest.

Once you locate a Gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored.

You will learn about their behavior, how they feed, communicate etc. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation as you wait for the next encounter.

Later in the evening, you will visit the Batwa who were the early inhabitants of the forest.

Here you will learn about their ways of living, what they eat, how they survive, get involved in some experiences like fire making using sticks etc. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

Day 3: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi Island for Exploration: Traditional Dugout Canoe Safari & Scenic Landscapes

After breakfast, you travel south to Lake Bunyonyi. This is one of Uganda’s most beautiful and peaceful areas, perfect for slowing down.

Arrival is followed by island exploration, you will set off by boat to explore some of the lake’s famous islands each with its own story and character.

You will learn about local history, traditions, and the way communities have lived alongside the lake for generations. Return to the lodge, for lunch as you enjoy the lakes views.

In the afternoon, you will go for canoeing experience. Gliding across Lake Bunyonyi in traditional canoes, enjoy the fresh air and the gentle rhythm of paddling.

The silence is broken only by birdsong and soft splashes of water making the experience both relaxing and refreshing. After this encounter, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Return to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will check out and transfer back to Entebbe. End of the trip.
