Detailed Itinerary of the 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla Trek & Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

In the morning you will have breakfast to drive south-west of Uganda. You will have stop at the equator for photographs, and in Mbarara for lunch. The journey will take you through large banana plantations, papyrus woodland, and terraced landscapes of the “Switzerland of Africa”. It takes about 9 hours to reach Bwindi in the late afternoon. You will then go for a walk in the surrounding communities. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma community Bandas

Day 2 : Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

Following breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you set off at 9:00 am through the tracks to search for the humble giants. You will go with packed lunch because it’s hard to determine how long it will take you to meet these great apes. However the time ranges between 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them. They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight at Buhoma community Bandas.

Day 3 : Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for Boat Cruise and wildlife tour

Have Breakfast to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector to reach the park in the afternoon. You will have a game drive en-route where you might spot game along the way as you transfer to the park headquarters. Watch out for tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and George. Day 4: Game drive and Transfer to Kampala

Very early in the morning before dawn, you will wake up to have a cup of coffee or a glass of water/ juice to go for an early morning game drive. This game drive will take you through the Kasenyi sector and the queens’ mile in the park and will reward you with animals like Lions, elephants, hyenas, Giant forest hogs, Bush bucks, Warthogs, Hyenas, civets, aardvarks, Leopards, and many more.
After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for late breakfast and then later on drive to Kampala to reach in the evening.
