Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Fort Portal

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa. Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your Active Uganda Safaris guide will meet you and begin the scenic drive toward Fort Portal. Nestled in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, this town is the gateway to your cultural adventure.

Day 2: The Kasenda Crater Lakes Exploration

Spend the day amidst the “Explosion Craters.” We will hike to the “Top of the World” viewpoint, offering 360-degree views of the Kasenda Craters and Lake George. This area is a hidden gem for photographers and nature lovers. In the afternoon, visit a local vanilla or coffee farm to learn about Uganda’s agricultural heritage.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth NP – Savanna Wildlife

Transition from the craters to the savanna. We enter Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, Cape buffalo, and the elusive leopard. As the sun sets, enjoy the unique landscape of the Bunyampaka salt works.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth NP – Savanna Wildlife

Transition from the craters to the savanna. We enter Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for elephants, Cape buffalo, and the elusive leopard. As the sun sets, enjoy the unique landscape of the Bunyampaka salt works.

Day 4: Kazinga Channel & Community Boat Cruise

Start with a sunrise game drive in the Kasenyi plains. In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This is one of the highest concentrations of hippos in the world. We conclude the day with a visit to a nearby fishing village to understand the co-existence of local communities and wildlife.

Day 5: Ishasha Sector & Traditional Homestay Experience

Drive south to the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. After our search for these unique predators, we head to a community-run lodge for a cultural evening. Participate in traditional dance, basket weaving, or local food preparation with a community group.

Day 6: Return to Entebbe / Departure

After a final breakfast in the wild, we begin our journey back to Entebbe. We will stop at the Equator for photographs and a farewell lunch, arriving in the evening for your flight departure.
