This Trip’s Impact on Eco-Tourism and Wildlife Conservation
The 9 Days Uganda Gorilla & Wildlife Safari is a journey built on the principles of sustainable travel. By participating in this itinerary, you contribute directly to the following conservation efforts:
- Primate Protection Funding: Your permits for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale fund the 24/7 protection of these endangered species. This revenue pays for specialized rangers and veterinary teams (Gorilla Doctors) who ensure the health of the habituated groups.
- Community Stewardship: Through the 20% revenue-sharing mandate of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), your park fees fund local infrastructure like schools and water systems. This transforms former poachers into conservationists by providing tangible benefits from tourism.
- Habitat Preservation: This trip traverses multiple “Important Bird Areas” and wildlife corridors. The economic value of your visit helps prevent these forests and savannahs from being converted into agricultural land, keeping vital carbon sinks intact.
- Support for the Rhino Reintroduction: The visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary funds the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be seen in the wild, supporting the long-term goal of reintroducing them to Murchison Falls National Park.
