After an early breakfast, your guide escorts you to the park headquarters. Accompanied by expert rangers, you will venture into the dense rainforest to track a habituated gorilla family. Spend an unforgettable hour standing just meters away from these gentle giants before returning to the lodge to unwind.

3.Day 3: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise:Queen Elizabeth National Park.

We drive north to Queen Elizabeth National Park, entering through the southern Ishasha Sector. Keep your eyes glued to the fig trees—this is one of the few places in Africa where lions routinely rest high up in the branches. In the afternoon, enjoy an escorted boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, crocodiles, and elephants lining the shores.

4.Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Return Transfer:Departure.

Embark on a sunrise game drive across the Kasenyi plains to spot leopards, Uganda kobs, and herds of buffaloes. Afterward, begin the return journey to catch your departure flight, concluding your incredible Ugandan adventure.

Pro Tips for This Trip

Fly into Kigali (Rwanda) Instead of Entebbe (Uganda)

The drive from Entebbe International Airport to Bwindi takes roughly 8 to 9 hours. If you want to cut down your driving time significantly, book your incoming flight to Kigali International Airport. The drive from Kigali to Bwindi via the Cyanika or Gatuna border is only 4 to 5 hours, making it a much shorter, smoother entry point for your gorilla safari.

  • Secure the East African Tourist Visa: If you choose the Kigali route, apply for the East African Tourist Visa ($100). This single visa allows multiple entries between Rwanda and Uganda, saving you paperwork and border delays.
  • Packing Essentials: Bwindi is a tropical rainforest. Pack lightweight, waterproof jackets, sturdy hiking boots with good grip, and long thick socks (you’ll want to tuck your trousers into your socks to keep ants out during the trek).
  • Keep Cash Handy: While your escorted tour covers transport, accommodation, and park fees, you’ll want some local currency cash (Uganda Shillings or Rwandan Francs) to tip your porters and local site rangers who assist you during the trek.
