1. The 1% Pledge for Rangers
Wildlife conservation is a frontline battle. We contribute a percentage of every safari booking fee to the Fallen Rangers Education Fund.
This initiative ensures that the children of rangers who have lost their lives protecting Uganda’s national parks have access to quality education and a secure future.
2. Supporting Rhino Reintroduction
We are active partners in the historic return of rhinos to the Ugandan wild.
Through our collaboration with the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), we support the 2026 Kidepo Valley reintroduction project.
By bringing travelers to these sanctuaries, we provide the critical “Tourism Revenue” required to maintain 24-hour veterinary monitoring and anti-poaching patrols.
3. Community-Led Conservation
Poaching often stems from a lack of economic alternatives. We prioritize Community-Based Tourism by:
- Local Sourcing: We partner exclusively with lodges that employ at least 80% of their staff from neighboring villages.
- The Batwa Trail: We support ethical cultural encounters that provide the Batwa people with a sustainable income, preserving their heritage while protecting the fringes of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
4. Carbon-Conscious Expeditions
To protect the very climates our primates depend on, we are transitioning our fleet toward higher efficiency.
- Waste Management: We operate a “Pack-In, Pack-Out” policy on all our mountaineering trips in the Rwenzori and Elgon ranges.
- Plastic-Free Initiative: We provide reusable stainless steel water bottles to our guests, significantly reducing single-use plastic waste within the national parks.
