The 7 Days Primate Rwanda Safari Adventure takes you Mountain Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Volcanoes National Park Ruhengeri and Chimpanzee tracking in the vast stunning Nyungwe Forest National Park as well as relaxation at Lake Kivu.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kigali for City Tour

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet our driver/guide and after embark the safari jeep and transfer to your Hotel and if you arrive early take the Kigali city tour visiting the Kigali genocide memorial centre, some local markets and after return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel/Mille Collines Hotel/Luxury Hotel Rwanda. Meal plan: B/B

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Have breakfast from your hotel of residence, after meet with the company guide and transfer to Volcanoes with the en-route visit to the Kigali genocide memorial sites and then have lunch, and proceed north to the foothills of the volcanoes that make up Volcanoes National Park. Visit the Iby’Iwacu cultural village and after stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/Lebamboo gorilla lodge. Meal plan: F/B

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast drive to  park headquarters where visitors assemble at 7:00 am for briefing on how to” behave” while in the company of a gorilla group. You will meet your guide here and proceed to the starting point of the trek to our allocated group of gorillas. The length of the trek varies depending on where the gorillas are as well as what the weather conditions are. Carry on hiking boots, long trousers and gloves for protection against stinging nettles, some snacks & sweets. After transfer to Gisenyi and stay at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel/Paradise Malahinde Lodge, Meal plan: F/B

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Kivu then Nyungwe Forest National Park

Have breakfast, and then transfer to Nyungwe Forest via Gisenyi to view Lake Kivu, with a stopover for lunch in Kibuye. Thereafter drive via the green canopies of the tea plantations and upon arrival check in at Nyungwe Forest Lodge/Nyungwe Hill Top Hotel/Gisakura Guest House for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk

Chimpanzee Tracking Tours in NyungweHave breakfast and after transfer to park head offices for the briefing about the chimps and the forest, after enter into the forest to search for chimpanzees, and other primates like acrobatic Angolan Colobus monkeys, as well as the handsome L’hoest monkeys. Return to the lodge for lunch, then in the evening go for the canopy walk to spot more primates and birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day 6: Explore Butare and Nyanza Palaces

After breakfast we travel to Butare where we visit the Butare Museum- After touring the exhibits at the museum, entertainment is provided by Rwandan traditional dancer called ‘’Intore’’ After lunch we drive to Nyanza, the historical seat of the ancient Rwandan kings place where we visit the Palace and enjoy some traditional story-telling by some of the village elders. We then proceed on to Kigali for the night.

Day 7: Departure to Kigali

Have breakfast, after transfer to Kigali with the visit to other cultural sites and genocides and then transfer to airport for your return flight back home.
